Description:

The Driver position is responsible parts being picked up and delivered in a safe manor from clients, customers, vendors, and the general public, etc.

Requirements:
  • Pickup and delivery of parts in a safe manor.
  • Ensures parts are not damaged in transit
  • Load and unload products, parts, and materials
  • Inspect, count, sign, and properly tag all materials incoming and departing.
  • Reconcile all paperwork and forward to the applicable departments
  • Package parts to protect them from damage and deterioration.
  • Maintain company delivery vehicles.
  • Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
  • Follow routes and time schedule
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle
  • Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints
  • Complete logs and reports
  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
  • Communicate traffic delays and other concerns as needed
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations
  • Wear and use all safety equipment as required and properly.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed to include sweeping and dusting; always assist with organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders and upper management, providing information and insights that are valuable to business decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED/PREFERRED SKILLS:

High School diploma or GED required. Applicable certifications a plus and/or training a plus.

Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a warehousing, transportation, inventory control or similar supply chain department.

Proven work experience as a Truck Driver

Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly

utilize appropriate technology to efficiently manage the delivery process including handheld technology

Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations

No recent moving or driving violations

Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)

Strong communication (written and oral) and problem-solving skills. Ability to use computers for data entry, word processing, spreadsheets, and custom accounting applications

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively with other staff, vendors, contractors, and the general public

Organized and detail-oriented with strong level of accuracy and the ability to multi-task

Ability to prioritize and adhere to strict deadlines

High level of integrity; ability to handle confidential information
