Georgia-Pacific has an immediate need for E&I Technicians at our West Monroe, LA facility. We are looking for highly skilled individuals who can troubleshoot and perform maintenance on manufacturing equipment and who have a thorough understanding of safe work practices. These positions create value for the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability, thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals.

This position works a rotating 8 hour shift, this may include weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Our Maintenance Technicians work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.

$36.73/hour

What You Will Do

  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical issues; apply knowledge around wiring schematics
  • Apply knowledge of instrumentation principles such as Pressure, Flow, and Temperature utilizing digital and analog sensing device technologies
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical issues; apply knowledge around wiring schematics
  • Apply knowledge of instrumentation principles such as Pressure, Flow, and Temperature utilizing digital and analog sensing device technologies
  • Apply knowledge of industrial control platforms such as Rockwell/ Allen-Bradley for their Programmable Logic Controllers, Variable Frequency Drives, and servo feedback systems
  • Apply knowledge of NFPA 70 and 70E training and knowledge to work safely with circuits 600VAC and below
  • Apply knowledge of 3-phase and single-phase AC motors, field and permanent magnet DC motors, and circuit protection.
  • Assist mechanical maintenance personnel in troubleshooting, calibration or repair of complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Available to work any shift, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
  • Work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for at least 8 hours a day

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • At least one year of industrial experience Associates degree or higher in Industrial Electricity, Instrumentation, Electrical and Control Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, military training, or demonstrated knowledge and experience

What Will Put You Ahead
  • At least 3 years of industrial experience
  • PLC Programming experience: Allen-Bradley preferred
  • VFD Programming and Commissioning experience
  • Experience as an Industrial Electrician
