When it comes to where you work, we know you’ve got choices…here’s what we provide:
  • Position Status: Part-time, Less than 20 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible to meet referral needs.
    • We're looking for someone to build a caseload of 5-6 sessions per week. Areas served - UCP Early Intervention is a provider of Early Intervention services in Dauphin, Cumberland-Perry, York-Adams, Franklin-Fulton, Lancaster, and Lebanon Counties. Service area can be determined based on referral and provider needs.

Responsibilities:
Here’s what to expect as a Special Instructor:
  • Assess the needs, interest, and abilities of the family and child to determine appropriate ways to assist the family in meeting their functional goals as it relates to special education therapy.
  • Assist in developing outcomes, strategies, and data collection methods based on the child’s Evaluation Report (ER) and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Assess on an ongoing basis the functional skills of the child in the areas of cognitive, play, social and emotional, and self-help needs.
  • Develop a positive rapport with community medical staff and specialists to foster support of the children and families of the Early Intervention program.
  • Complete all Agency and county paperwork required for new referrals and ongoing services within outlined timelines.
  • Provide updates and information for quarterly reviews and annual evaluations in accordance with county guidelines to allow for adequate planning when determining the child's continued eligibility.
  • Assist in the coordination of special education therapy services in compliance with governmental policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement new policies and/or procedures within the functional area to support the continuous improvement of operational effectiveness and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements as a Special Instructor:
  • Bachelor's degree within a related discpipline expected and 2 to 5 years of learning experience within a related professional discipline preferred; OR Master's degree within a related discipline and 0 to 2 years of learning experience within a related professional discipline preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle with valid insurance coverage.
  • Eligible for PA Promise Enrollment.
  • Not on CMS Exclusion List.
  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and interpret English
Preferred, but not required:

  • At least one year of experience working with children.
