The Operations, Partnership, and Innovation Team within the Office of the State Superintendent is seeking applicants for an Education Consultant position. Position Summary


This position works under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, Partnerships, and Innovation (OPI) Team to advance Family, Youth, and Community Engagement (FYCE) efforts statewide and works collaboratively with staff across the department to ensure a healthy, inclusive environment and organizational culture is cultivated and sustained. This consultant works across the agency and externally to create and sustain meaningful partnerships that advance the vision and mission of the department. This consultant collaborates with internal and external partners to lead and implement special projects and initiatives that both support the mission and vision of the agency and advance innovative practices with systemic changes in agency processes and within education, broadly.

This consultant is responsible for coordinating the ongoing culturally responsive and racial equity practices, providing leadership for the growth and development of future racial equity initiatives and goals. They will coordinate peer to peer activities, family activities, youth engagement, and community partnerships through professional networking, training, and workshop opportunities. The education consultant will draw from both their lived, professional, and formal education experiences to be successful in this role.

Salary Information


Depending on qualifications, the salary will be between $32.00 - $45.00 per hour (approximately $66,560 - $93,600 per year). For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan effective at time of hire. This position is in pay schedule 13, range 02. A one-year probationary period will be required.

This position offers excellent benefits. The State of Wisconsin is a qualifying employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Job Details


This position has the option to work 85% remote with a requirement that the employee is expected to have access to secure high speed internet. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.

The position is headquartered at 125 S. Webster Street in Madison, WI, and employees are required to report there on their first day of employment. In addition, the employee may need to report to their headquarter location as operational needs require. Reimbursement for traveling to or from the employee’s headquarters is not provided (e.g., mileage, meals, parking, lodging, etc.).

A criminal background check will be conducted prior to an offer of hire.

Qualifications

A minimally qualified applicant must have experience with the below
:


  • Program coordination (e.g. building relationships with partners, facilitating meetings, conducting needs assessments, identifying/implementing program/process improvements, developing/managing budgets, etc.).
  • Developing and implementing initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Professional and/or lived experience with systemic inequities and policies or processes that impact marginalized communities (i.e., people of color, communities of lower socio-economic status, etc.) and recommending changes.


Well-qualified applicants will also have experience
:

  • Developing a logic model for project goals and determining metrics to evaluate and measure outcomes.
  • Planning professional, student or family events.
  • Conducting ongoing formal and informal needs assessments for educational programs or for evaluating the support needs of youth, families, or professionals.
  • Developing or supporting equitable and sustainable community-based practices and structures that center the leadership of young people as restorative practice practitioners.
  • Utilizing restorative practices (i.e., practices beyond conflict resolution/mediation that improve and repair relationships)
