Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our construction management team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that project costs are accurately estimated based on the project specifications and engineered drawings.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate construction estimates using estimating software. We may be open to accommodating a different software than we currently use, if the right candidate has strong preference for a particular take-off/estimating software.
- Conduct site visits and gather data to ensure accurate cost estimates, if necessary.
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine materials, labor, and equipment costs.
- Identify and manage potential risks and cost overruns.
- Collaborate with office assistant(s) to prepare proposals and detailed scope of work and pricing documents.
- Collaborate with the construction management team to ensure that projects are completed within budget and exceed the client's expectations.
- Collaborate with office assistant(s) and job foremen to maintain accurate and detailed records of all estimates and costs.
- Continuously improve the estimating process to ensure that it remains efficient and cost-effective.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in the electrical construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction management and cost control principles.
- Proficiency in estimating/take-off software.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field preferred.
Skills:
- Experience with NEC (National Electric Code) and other relevant construction codes preferred, not required.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating and cost control techniques.
- Proficiency in construction management software.
- Strong understanding of construction materials and labor costs.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $75,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
