SUMMARY
The Eligibility Specialist supports activities in determining initial and continuing eligibility of applicants for financial assistance programs. This includes utilizing professional skills in collaborating with other members of the medical team and non-clinical staff ensures patient eligible for financial assistance are assisted in receiving benefits and coverage. The Eligibility Specialist also provides education to other staff related to such activities. This includes but not limited to physicians, clinical and non-clinical departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diplom or GED
• Minimum of three (3) years progressive hospital eligibility experience
• Knowledge of government and non-government payers such as Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Compensation, commercial insurances, and other local, state, and federal financial assistance programs including, but not limited to SSI/SSD
• Strong communication and analytical skills
