Salary Schedule per terms of Board of Education contract. Salary Range of $60,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience

Overview:
The EMIS Coordinator will collect, review and report all pertinent student and staff data required by state, federal and local agencies, to maintain accurate district-wide data entry and reporting of data on staff and students, to oversee and train district staff in data-entry using the EMIS systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assure the timely, accurate submission of the district’s staff and student EMIS data for state reporting. Review, verify and correct data collected and submitted for EMIS.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a system for accurate student information collection, entry, maintenance and reporting.
  • Train district staff as required to perform student information collection, entry, maintenance and reporting. Work with appropriate district staff to monitor data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Submit required data to DEW for all reporting periods.
  • Maintain records for filing district SF14, Open Enrollment, Court Ordered, Special Education, Community School enrollment, CCP and other reports as required by DEW.
  • Serve as community conversion school(s) data information coordinator.
  • Consult with outside vendors as applicable (META, etc) to ensure best practices are used in EMIS reporting functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a field or an equivalent combination of training and related experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with EMIS or data collection and verification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):
  • Proficient in all aspects of PowerSchool or similar Student Information System.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters, set priorities, and work well under pressure with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement by engaging in regular professional development activities and share learning with appropriate district personnel.
  • Intermediate/advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel and Google products.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with District personnel and the public.
  • Train building level staff on proper reporting and entry of student & staff data into corresponding systems.
  • Train building level staff on proper data review and verification processes.
  • Ability to implement and support processes that will enhance data entry and quality.
  • Ability to identify data quality issues/errors, take initiative to problem solve with appropriate district personnel and assist with corrections.
  • Ability to provide district personnel with short-term solutions and follow up with long-term corrections.
  • Effectively utilize technology to organize, analyze and disseminate assessment results.
  • Effectively submit data in a timely fashion that allows for errors/issues to be corrected by appropriate staff in a timely manner.

  • The employee must also have the ability to work in an office environment, operate varied technologies.
  • The specific vision requirements of the job include good depth perception and occasionally being able to see objects/persons at a distance.
  • While performing the duties of the job the employee frequently is required to hear conversation in quiet, as well as, noisy environment and be able to tell where a sound is coming from.
  • The employee must be able to communicate to the team in order to give directions.
