Job Description

SUMMARY

The Grand Sierra Resort is seeking a talented and qualified individual to serve as a Supervisor for Entertainment and The Pool. In this role, the team member will be responsible for all department operations, providing superior guest service according to the GSR service standards, supervising all levels of staff, resolving guest issues appropriately, supporting all other staff and management, and maintaining cleanliness of all areas in accordance with department standards. This role requires a strong knowledge of the GSR resort and its amenities, with the ability to promote our various offerings and products at all opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Communicate with guests professionally, answering questions and offering assistance when possible.

· Assist with daily scheduling and reports, while maintaining appropriate staffing levels for business levels, making adjustments as needed.

· Assist the manager in the venues and surrounding areas; ensure department standards are met and are suitable for guest use. This includes supervising opening, daily, or closing procedures.

· Assist with training and developing all staff, including being present and observing any coaching and counseling sessions that are directed by management.

· Supervise the productivity of staff, delegate tasks and work closely with team members to ensure success.

· Always assist with adhering to Health Department standards, as well as promoting a neat, clean and organized environment.

· Provide clear communication and direction, keeping staff informed and educated on current department and company initiatives.

· Attend and participate in all meetings as required

· Maintain an open line of communication with management, relaying relevant information and events.

· Provides clear direction, establishes goals and appropriate time frames, supervises overall guest satisfaction, and monitors progress to achieve desired results.

· All other duties as assigned by management within the scope of this position.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

· Minimum 21 years or older.

· Possess a strong attention to detail, maintaining the cleanliness of the bars, venues, and surrounding areas.

· Meet GSR’s standards of appearance at all times.

· Knowledge of and adherence to all GSR and departmental policies and procedures, ensuring the highest levels of guest service.

· Respond to questions effectively and present information in a clear and professional manner.

· Must possess excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks quickly and efficiently.

· Work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate under pressure in a high-volume outlet, ensuring guest satisfaction.

· Must have a strong knowledge of various systems including but not limited to; AS400, Microsoft Office, HOT SOS, Kronos, and Info Genesis POS.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· 1 - 2 years previous experience in a supervisory role in the hospitality industry or similar setting is preferred.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

· Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with the Alcohol Awareness Card, ServSafe, and Nevada Gaming Card.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly standing, kneeling, walking, reaching, twisting, grasping, lifting, listening, using computer, telephone, and speaking

· Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and writing, typing on computer keyboard

· Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. Able to push or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Work performed indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme temperatures, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, fumes, etc., associated with the venue’s environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Team Member may be exposed to odor and secondhand smoke.
