Salary Range: Commensurate with experience

Leads facilities management activities, including custodial and laborer services operations, quality assurance and quality control, maintenance operations for planned (predictive and preventive) and unplanned routine maintenance and repair of building systems for the District. Directs, monitors and coordinates the District's facility management activities, including the minor construction and equipment within buildings, asset portfolio, use of buildings (internally and externally), planning of activities and operation, maintenance and custodial operations, based on the District's needs and goals. Manages and deploys facility condition and maintenance data to drive resource allocation and service delivery.

Reports to Chief of Operations. Plans, assigns and supervises the work performed in the areas of responsibility and ensures compliance with District policy and practices and appropriate federal, state and local rules and regulations.

Essential Functions and Objectives:
•Provides senior leadership and direction for management of the District's facilities, establishing divisional goals that promote safety, quality assurance and quality control, workforce efficiency and production and support positive customer service
•Directs, executes and supports minor construction projects and equipment of buildings and ensures that projects conform to specifications and standards
•Reviews and monitors lease agreements for rental of school property
•Directs the procurement of supplies, equipment and services necessary for the operation of the District; manages District asset management program
•Directs, plans and conducts an annual review of facility services operations to ensure facility management policies and procedures, including safety, comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
•Conducts random and scheduled audits to determine if financial operations are conducted properly and reports are an accurate representation of existing operations; determines if the unit, department or entity has complied with applicable laws, regulations, policies or practices and determines if internal and external controls are adequate; determines if a unit, department or entity is managing its resources in an economically efficient manner in compliance with established internal controls; verifies and/or reports instances of financial negligence
•Develops, implements and maintains a maintenance program within the funds allocated; reviews and approves requests for payment to vendors, architectural and contracting firms after careful review of contracted, scheduled and completed work
•Monitors and evaluates facilities, engineering and maintenance projects optimizing efficiency and economy, recommending any necessary corrections or improvements to facility management policies and procedures including standards for construction and design
•Provides related recommendations for Board of Education meetings

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Business Administration, Facility Management or related field or minimum 10 years experience in related field
  • Seven years of leadership experience in facility management, preferably with a large educational or school operation
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing large-scale budgets and projects
