Job Description

Summary:

Assists with the upkeep of the entire casino property using some equipment. The incumbent will have assignments that require them inside of the buildings and doing basic maintenance and grounds keeping outside of the buildings. This position is more of a skilled position that requires the incumbent to have knowledge and skill in basic maintenance in a variety of areas. Assists with the department operations in a guest service friendly, efficient and profitable manner that promotes superior team member, guest and vendor relations.


Essential Functions:

  • Performs maintenance and janitorial duties; keeps the buildings and property clean; provides safe conditions.
  • Operates and provides proper care and repair of maintenance/cleaning equipment.
  • Provides departments with various supplies, as required on daily work list.
  • Performs landscaping duties and other assigned outdoor tasks.
  • Keeps work area neat, clean and sanitized.
  • Follows all SDS guidelines while utilizing cleaning chemicals.
  • May be required to perform biohazard and HAZMAT cleanups.
  • Provides a high standard of professionalism and guest service.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Must be at least 18 years or older.
  • Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must possess a current Class 12 or 13 Mixology (MAST) permit within 30 days of initial hire (Coulee Dam Casino location only).
  • Must have demonstrated experience in basic maintenance (Plumbing, Carpentry, Irrigation and/or Electrical).
  • Must have knowledge of various hand and power tools and be able to operate those tools.
  • Must be able to safely operate scissor lift, forklift, snow plow, ORV, tractor, and company vehicles.
  • Ability to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute fractions.
  • Must have knowledge and skill in operating basic landscaping equipment such lawn mowers, weed eater, etc.
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
  • Ability to work various shifts including evenings, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
  • Must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License
  • Must successfully complete Title 31, Banking Secrecy Act training, if applicable, upon hire and annually.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid non-gaming permit or, if applicable, a gaming badge.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
  • Ability to frequently sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently bend, squat and/or reach.
  • Ability to frequently climb and maneuver ladders.
  • Ability to frequently push and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice non-verbal behavior.
  • Speech and hearing ability to project voice to small and large audiences, carry on radio/telephone conversations, hear and grasp verbal communications and equipment prompts.
  • Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability of sight to recognize traffic signs, read directions/maps, and maneuver a vehicle safely.
  • Occasionally works near or around electricity.
  • Occasionally works near or around mechanical moving parts.
  • Frequently exposed to vibration.
  • Frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Frequently exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment.
  • Frequently exposed to tobacco smoke.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, including variations in temperature and precipitation.
