Job Summary:

Raytheon Louisville Facility (RLF) specializes in Manufacturing, Remanufacturing and Depot capabilities for Large Systems. The facility is a multi-product facility that specializes in teardown, refurbishment, assembly (both remanufactured and new), test and final preparation of weapon systems and subsystems including circuit card repair and test.

The Factory Trainer will be responsible for process-based factory training and site compliance. The successful candidate will report to the Strategic Infrastructure Support Manager and be accountable for development, execution, and maintenance of a process focused training program for the site. The trainer will also be responsible for management and execution of compliance training for the site through the Learning Management System. This will involve close coordination with the value stream leaders to ensure all production bargaining unit employees are properly trained for their roles. Additionally, the factory trainer will be responsible for assessing the skill level of the bargaining unit employees and providing direct instruction.

This position is an onsite role.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • This job role will be responsible for process-based factory training and site compliance training.
  • Develop and maintain process focused training program for the site.
  • Partner with the production managers to schedule training.
  • Monitor for any expired training and ensure training is brought up to date.
  • Will be the Learning Management System (LMS) coordinator for the site.
  • Prepare and reply to audit inquiries related to training.
  • Manage all tooling and classroom resources for training.
  • Instruct Boot Camp training for all touch labor new hire employees and on-going skills development needs.
  • Will be the primary instructor for solder training, forklift training, and torque training for the site.
  • Perform skills assessment during the on-boarding of all bargaining unit employees for successful placement in factory role.
  • Manage Factory Qualification training compliance (assembly specific/on-the-job training)
  • Lead training improvement projects to develop new course material in coordination with the Legacy RMD training department.
  • Develop course objectives with local subject matter experts.
  • Oversee course development and track progress to goals.
  • Support site compliance for factory processes FOE, FOD and ESD

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of five (5) years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with creating and instructing training in a manufacturing environment.
  • Past or Present IPC J-STD-001 certification and IPC-7711/7721 certification
  • Experience building a variety of different Phalanx assemblies.
  • Experience with a variety of common processes for building government hardware (i.e. safety wiring, torqueing, cable bundling & strapping, bearing installation & removal, drilling, tapping, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This requisition is eligible for an employee referral award. ALL eligibility requirements must be met to receive the referral award.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
