The Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing warranty and non-warranty repairs on a variety of flooring installations, including hardwood, laminate, carpet, tile, and vinyl. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service. We are in need of a well-rounded service team member that can communicate to customers and tackle the daily challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and perform warranty and non-warranty repairs on installed flooring.
• Assess the condition of flooring materials and determine the appropriate course of action for repair.
• Communicate with customers to provide clear and accurate information regarding repair timelines and necessary actions.
• Ensure that all repairs are completed to the highest standard and within company guidelines.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, including materials used, time spent, and recommendations for future maintenance.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as installers, sales, and customer service to ensure seamless operations and client satisfaction.
• Provide feedback to management regarding recurring issues or product improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and order in the work area.
• Handle and transport flooring materials and tools safely and efficiently to job sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment used in the repair process.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role in flooring installation and repair.
• Strong technical knowledge of various flooring materials, including hardwood, laminate, carpet, tile, and vinyl.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to flooring installation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy flooring materials (up to 50 lbs) as required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or training in flooring installation is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with using specialized flooring tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of industry standards for flooring installation and repairs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality work standards.
