Job Description

This position will help support the financial planning and analysis function by preparing, reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling financial data to ensure accurate reporting. The budget team will provide guidance and financial insight to all areas of the organization to build and obtain a leaner and more accurate plan to achieve corporate strategic goals. This role will provide financial consulting and support to senior management including preparing board/management presentations, capital expenditure plans, cost benefit analysis for projects acquisition analysis and other projects requested by executive leadership.

What you’ll do
  • Coordinate, support, and create financial projections and the annual corporate operating budget by partnering with all budget users in the company.
  • Responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and reporting of administrative expense for submission to executive management and BCBSKS Board of Directors,
  • Manage and coordinate the creation of various corporate budgets by partnering with management across the organization.
  • Prepare detailed budget and actual variance analysis for operating expenses at the departmental, divisional, and corporate levels.
  • Develop detailed departmental, divisional, and corporate budget exhibit graphs and metrics to explain the drivers of increases/decreases to the plan.
  • Provide financial oversight on projected resources and expenditures needed to fulfill corporate projects.
  • Developed analysis and recommendations on the administrative cost impact of broad-based projects, such as, technology upgrades, new products, and process improvements.
  • Partner with PMO and business analysts to develop scorecards for recurring presentations to executive leadership on actuals vs budget, project burndown, upcoming projects, and any associated costs to provide the committee an update on statuses, critical drivers, or warnings to monitor.
What you need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • The candidate will be hired as either a Staff Accountant, Financial Analyst or Sr Financial Analyst, dependent on experience:
    • Staff Accountant level requires 0-3 years of experience.
    • Financial Analyst level requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience and demonstrates an advanced level of accounting skills.
    • Sr. Financial Analyst level requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience and demonstrates an advanced level of accounting skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all organizational levels and external contacts.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements.
Bonus if you have
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software, such as Workday.
Compensation
  • BCBSKS Grade: Exempt 14, 15 or 16
  • Minimum salary starting at $60,800
  • Salary based on education, skills and experience
