Financial Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Process and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Accurately post and verify transactions, ensuring the completion of all documentation.
  • Track budget variances and maintain accurate financial entries.
  • Reconcile company accounts as needed.
  • Assist with payroll processing, providing necessary documents and information.
  • Collaborate with accountants on tax payments, returns, and related processes.
  • Create and present financial reports as required.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with external accounting firms, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform general administrative tasks and support ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, advising management as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to track, manage, and maintain financial data with accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional role and manage multiple responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; or a relevant Associate’s degree combined with applicable experience.
  • Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounts payable/receivable is strongly preferred.
