Job Summary: The Seafood Merchandiser plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful operation of our Fresh Seafood Departments in a Restaurant Depot. This position involves managing inventory, optimizing product displays, maintaining food safety standards, and collaborating with operations and buyers.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels.
- Review and address daily Stock list Reports.
- Verify counts are completed.
- Product Display:
- Create appealing seafood displays to attract customers.
- Arrange products in an organized and visually appealing manner.
- Ensure proper signage and pricing information.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the merchandising team to align strategies within the West Coast Region and amongst all regions.
- Communicate effectively with buyers regarding product selection, quantities, delivery times, and product quality.
- Sales Analysis:
- Analyze sales data to identify opportunities to limit Damages, Interims and Pricing Adjustments.
- Implement schematics for promotional/sales items to boost sales.
- Training:
- Train seafood managers in merchandising and sales techniques.
- Train Seafood and Receiving team on proper receiving procedures.
- Reporting:
- Maintain constant communications with the buying team and direct supervisor.
- Provide daily visit reports.
Qualifications:
- Proven background in merchandising.
- Attention to detail and ability to adapt on the fly.
- Self-Starter
- Strong communication skills. Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Knowledge of seafood products and industry trends.
- Ability to travel to multiple locations.
