Front of House Coordinator
Full-Time Hourly Administrator (Level 13)
Hourly Range: $23.75 to $26.75 (Hourly range is commensurate with experience.)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Reports to Theater Manager

  • This position requires the new employee to submit the PA State Police check, the child abuse clearance, and FBI fingerprint results to HR prior to their first day of employment.

BASIC PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Theater Manager in the Montco Cultural Center, the Front of House Coordinator is responsible for event needs such as box office, concessions, ushers & volunteers, and communications for all Montco Cultural Center programming. This is a college-wide position, working in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, with some night and weekend hours required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists with compliance of fully executed contracts for theater and other staged events supported by the Montco Cultural Center. Specifically, works with Theater Manager to ensure all hospitality and front of house needs outlined in the riders are fulfilled for the artists/vendors, including but not limited to, coordinating travel for artists, including booking hotel reservations, car service, etc., and managing catering and any other green/dressing room requests.
  • Supports internal College events held in Montco Cultural Center spaces as assigned.
  • Develops and leads training for all front of house volunteers, ushers, and staff in alignment with industry best practices and College policies and procedures. Schedules and supervises volunteers and ushers.
  • Provides set-up for theater, lobby, and other supporting spaces used for Montco Cultural Center events.
  • Assists with other internal College events as assigned.
  • Creates the annual communications schedule for Montco Cultural Center mailings, reminders, and surveys. In collaboration with Strategic Communications team, ensures timely updates are provided to ticket holders for instances of cancellations, inclement weather, and date changes for events. This may include design, layout, and creation of programs for events.
  • Serves as the Montco Cultural Center’s representative on committees supporting engagement of students. Other duties as assigned.
  • Develops and manages box office reports, patron surveys, tracking of concerns and resolutions for patrons. Analyzes reports and provides recommendations to supervisor for front of house improvements for College and community experience.
  • Responsible for Montco Cultural Center customer service experience of all patrons with focus on resolution of concerns, requests, and complaints via telephone, email, and/or in-person support.
  • Processes ticket orders and exchanges via telephone, email, and/or in-person support. Maintains data input for and upkeep of current ticketing platform. Maintains consistent weekly on-campus Box Office hours as agreed upon with supervisor.
  • Purchases, tracks, and sells merchandise and concessions for artists and Montco Cultural Center, as well as manages inventory as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training/Work Experience:
  • Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred
  • Work experience in Hospitality Management, Theater/Front of House Management, Tourism and Hospitality required.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
