Job Description

The Global IC (Inventory Control) Specialist is responsible to work with our 3PL at the Indianapolis Distribution Center (IDC). You will manage the Global IC policies and processes and are accountable for global site compliance with internal Rockwell Automation policies and procedures. You will report to the Global Fulfillment Manager. You will work onsite at the Indianapolis Distribution Center.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Influences 3PL processes worldwide that impact inventory health and accuracy and serve as the first point of contact for Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) for inventory-related projects, inquiries, audits, etc. with Finance, Internal Audit, Quality, Operations, etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement with global standardization for Warehouse processes including receiving, parts put-away, picking etc.
  • Manage and report out excess and obsolete material strategies to disposition aged materials.
  • Leads and is the single point of contact for all annual Physical Inventory planning, coordination, SOX and SOD audit activities and other fiscal activities across all global sites.
  • Reviews 3PL's and global sites' inventory adjustments and write-offs to understand root cause and implement corrective action to avoid recurring activity. Follow Rockwell Automation Delegation of Authority when executing internal write-off activities.
  • Partner with 3PLs to maintain current reconciliation activities between 3PL Warehouse Management System and SAP.
  • Drive 3PL shipping discrepancy research and resolution and collect root cause for corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
  • Health check and operational reporting activities. - Regular cadence to review health checks with DC's. If not in the "green", create plan with DC to get in the "green". Escalate as required.
  • Maintain ABC codes across organization per annual requirement.
  • Assist in quarterly incoming and outbound inventory / financial requirements. Inbound per policy all facilities must indicate what material is on dock but not put away. Outbound any shipments that are shipped systematically, but not physically.
  • Understand all financial policies and procedures related to inventory. This includes, but is not limited to; PI, Inbound requirements, outbound policies, DOA.

Skills you have

FUNCTIONAL

  • Drive process/procedure reviews and assist in employee training.
  • Solid understanding and experience in at least one key aspects of warehouse operations (shipping, inventory or purchasing) to drive continual improvement in day-to-day functions, but preference will be given to a candidate who has understanding and experience in more than one.
  • Must have experience leading physical inventory and/or internal SOX/SOD audit activities.
  • Analyze/monitor opportunities for inventory disposition via excess/obsolete inventory program.
  • Understand storage and material dynamics so inventory can be right sized in all locations.
  • Lead cross functional partnerships across the Integrated Supply Chain to drive improvement at a Global scale.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects, i.e. Kaizen events.

  • You may require working on the floor or some weekends occasionally.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • 5+ years of complex warehouse operations related experience.
  • Working knowledge of Manhattan Scale 2020, Blue Yonder and warehouse storage concepts.
  • Experience working with SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of Rockwell's Indianapolis Distribution Center.
  • LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
