Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Manager to join our team at Burl Oaks GC, a private golf club located in Minnetrista, Minnesota. This role is essential for the daily operation and maintenance of the club’s golf course equipment fleet, ensuring all machinery is safe, efficient, and in excellent working condition. The Equipment Manager will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and other maintenance staff to support the overall care of the golf course.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on a wide variety of golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and small engines.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, blade sharpening, belt replacement, and hydraulic servicing to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
• Parts Management: Maintain an inventory of parts and tools, and order supplies as needed to ensure timely repairs and minimal downtime.
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repairs, including part replacements and equipment service schedules.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and train the golf course maintenance staff on proper operation and safety procedures for all machinery.
• Shop Maintenance: Keep the maintenance facility organized, clean, and compliant with safety regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to prioritize equipment repairs based on the needs of the golf course.
• Emergency Repairs: Be available for urgent or emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime during key golf course operations, such as tournaments or critical mowing schedules.

Upcoming Course Renovation: In addition to ongoing responsibilities, the club will begin a complete golf course renovation in the spring of 2025. This will include new equipment and infrastructure, presenting a unique opportunity for the Equipment Manager to play a vital role in preparing and maintaining equipment throughout the renovation process.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the golf course industry or turf management.
• Proficient in small engine repair, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with reel mowers, rotary mowers, and other specialized golf course equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance tracking systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and management.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate utility vehicles.

Physical Requirements:

• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with hands for extended periods.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive salary up to $70,000 based on experience.
