Head of PMO

What does a successful Head of PMO do at Fiserv?

You will build up and lead the Project and Initiative management function supporting programs, projects, process and reporting across the Global Business Solutions Technology organization. This position will report into the Chief Operating Officer and will manage a small team of project management professionals. In addition to structuring and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, this leader will also help to formulate and support vision and strategy of the organization.

What you will do:

  • Ensure projects are properly resourced and structured and establish partnerships with multiple technology and business leaders
  • Manage a team of project managers, program managers and analysts and ensure project management policies, standards and procedures are consistently followed and provide regular reviews, advisement, and consultation to the team and to your peer
  • Contribute to the vision, objectives, and strategic plans for the PMO team and develop an engagement model for the organization for internal and external facing programs
  • Communicate the project management strategy across stakeholders, leading the improvement and advancement of the function across the organization
  • Plan, track, and report on all initiatives and processes led by the COO organization, ensuring transparency and providing clear and concise communications at the executive level, while collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver on commitments
  • Own staffing and performance management for a team, set clear expectations and communicate continuously regarding performance throughout the year

What you will need to have:

  • 9+ years of experience in program/project management and reporting, related to software development
  • 5+ years of experience leading and directing a team of program and project managers
  • Experience in both Waterfall and Agile project management disciplines, stakeholder management, risk management/issue resolution, scope, and budget management
  • Solid negotiation skills and ability to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization
  • Ability to work independently to resolve moderate to complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of Project Management
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience
