Job Summary
The Host is the main point of contact when members and guests come to the Club. The Host greets members and guests in a personable, friendly, and inviting manner, and guides them to appropriate areas. The Host greets all incoming parties, records date, time and special requests and walks each party to a designated table. The Host also helps provide a fine dining environment by performing other assigned tasks requiring attention to detail.
Job Tasks (Duties)
- Greets members and guests as they enter the Club and Dining Room areas.
- Guides members to appropriate areas of the Club and to designated tables in the dining area.
- Addresses all members in a professional manner and by name if possible.
- Takes reservations and inputs information into the POS system.
- Communicates any wait time for a reservation with the member or guest.
- Takes “take-out” orders and enters them in the POS system.
- Wipes down menus.
- Ensures smooth operation of dining room flow.
- Monitors table rotation.
- Stays current with the Dining Room Menu offerings.
- Assists servers when busy by clearing, busing, and resetting tables.
- Takes ownership of member issues and follows problems through to resolution.
- Engages in making sincere, friendly, and personal interactions with membership and guests to ensure they are happy with food and service.
- Follows the service mission statement to the fullest.
- Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have strong client facing and communication skills.
- Must be able to pay high attention to detail.
- Must be able to perform basic computer skills to include familiarity with Excel programs.
- Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to work in a team environment.
- Restaurant experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food and drink when necessary.
- Must be able to pour beverages such as water and wine.
- Occasional bending.
- Occasional sitting.
Position Classification and Expected Hours of Work
The assigned hours to this position vary each week according to event schedules, but include working on holidays and weekends.
