SUPERVISOR: General Manager

Join our team and be a vital part of creating memorable experiences for our guests. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The Hotel Guest Services Representative / Front Desk Agent represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest’s stay from answering phones, making reservations, greeting guests upon arrival, communicating needs to all departments within hotel, checking guests out, and sending them home with a smile. Customer service is the key to this position because building and maintaining relationships brings guests back to stay again! DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers hotel's incoming phone calls and directs them to proper department and uses proper telephone etiquette.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of Opera (PMS), takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary, and knows all cancellation policies and procedures.
  • Registers guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible.
  • Thoroughly understands and adheres to proper credit card and cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Understands guestroom's status and room status tracking.
  • Knows and explains room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.
  • Coordinates guestroom status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all checkouts, late checkouts, early check-ins, and special requests.
  • Creates room keys.
  • Knows how to use front office equipment.
  • Processes guest checkouts.
  • Knows billing processes and how to post charges to guest, master, and ledger accounts.
  • Uses proper mail, package, and message handling procedures.
  • Reads and initials the front desk communication log and updates any issues in Quore. Is aware of daily activities, groups, and meetings taking place in the hotel.
  • Attends department meetings as scheduled.
  • Coordinates guestroom maintenance work with the engineering and maintenance division.
  • Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager.
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
  • Understands that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to another shift.
  • Responsible for cash handling and the amount of money in the front desk drawer.
  • Works with the sales department to obtain leads for corporate, leisure, and group business from phone calls and guest visits.
  • Other duties as requested from leadership team.

What we need from you:

  • Customer service experience
  • Hotel front desk experience
  • Proficiency in front desk operations and guest services
  • Strong phone etiquette skills
  • Previous experience in a hospitality role
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Familiarity with multi-line phone systems and guest relations
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus
  • Computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
