Job Title LAUNDRY ATTENDANT

Status Full time, Hourly
Compensation Starting wage is $16.00/hr.
Job Summary
Responsible for processing linens and clothing. Sort, wash, fold, move, store and deliver laundry items. Ensure safety and sanitation compliance. Follow standards of cleanliness.
Job Duties
· Receive and sort linens and clothing.
· Process items safely through machinery (such as washers, dryers, ironer, etc.), following adequate timing and procedures
· Fold items and separate for distribution/storage.
· Deliver laundered items to designated locations.
· Learn and maintain knowledge of equipment and cleaning chemical’s safety, emergency procedures, contamination procedures, signs, and health hazards. Ensure OSHA requirements are met.
· Inspect all items for proper cleanliness before placing them in assigned areas.
· Ensure storage areas remain organized, and proper storage procedures are followed.
· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
· Comply with all company standards, policies and procedures.
· Assist department, as needed.
· Additional duties, as required.
Qualifications
· Over three months related experience and/or training; preferred.
· Previous Hotel laundry and/or housekeeping experience, preferred.
· Self-starting with a pleasant disposition, and strong attention to detail.
· Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with guests and visitors.
Physical Environment
The position performs indoors and it is exposed to humid, hot, cold, and wet conditions.
The position requires the ability to perform repetitive movements; and move about laundry rooms, elevators, storage areas, and it is exposed to cleaning chemicals. The position requires the effective manipulation of cleaning and laundry equipment, products and waste.
The position constantly requires the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
The position frequently requires to move items up to 50 lbs.
The position occasionally requires to move items up to 100 lbs. and occasionally requires to perform duties in a stooping, kneeling, or crawling position.
