Job Description

Job Title: Housekeeper

Reports To: Meadows Apartment Manger

FLSA Status: Non Exempt

Meadows Apartments is seeking a Part Time Housekeeper to work

Monday/ Wednesday/Friday's 8 am-12 PM (hours may be flexible)

SUMMARY

Perform day-to-day housekeeping and cleaning functions and specific tasks in accordance with current federal, state and local standards to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Clean, wash, polish, sanitize, deodorize and disinfect all areas and items in the facility including furnishings, fixtures, trash bins, windows, mirrors, floors, carpets, walls, ceilings, bathrooms, etc., using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions and procedures

Ensure that work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner; clearly marked with caution or safety signs as required

Ensure that work areas are free of all hazardous objects and that all equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored at all times

Ensure that established Universal Precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety and sanitation practices and procedures are maintained and followed when performing housekeeping duties

Ensure that equipment, work and supply carts are properly cleaned and stored

Advise Apartment Manager of supplies needed

Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy at all times and adheres to corporate compliance guidelines

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to show the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions. Must speak and understand English. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must have a positive attitude toward the elderly

Must be able to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision or other employee assistance after the training period is completed

Perform tasks despite frequent interruptions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must be at least sixteen years of age and completed elementary education

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 15 per week
