About us

This Kaka'ako high-rise condominium opened in 2019. This entire Howard Hughes Ward project has an impressive LEED certification which is a major breakthrough for local sustainable design. Also, the tower is not all glass like many other new developments, but a mix of concrete, metal, and glass. It features a 43 story high-rise tower with 424 condos. Longs Drugs store is located located in the commercial space on the ground floor.

The location of the structure is very close to a future HART rail line and a train station is scheduled to be right across the street for easy commuting.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Chief, the Custodian/Housekeeper is responsible for assuring that all common areas, the offices, and staff rooms are clean and orderly. Demonstrates knowledge and skills of environmental cleaning, including cleaning products and chemical safety. Maintains and monitors inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment daily and reports any anticipated shortages of materials and cleaning supplies to assure that inventory is maintained. Assists other staff as directed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Duties

  • Dust all television monitors and television equipment
  • Wipe and clean all glass doors and windows
  • Vacuum and clean all amenity rooms which includes cleaning all counters, furniture, microwaves, sinks, and walls (where needed); arranging books, tables, and chairs; emptying trash
  • Collect / Empty trash bins around the building
  • Dust, wipe and arrange furniture in lobby areas; water potted plants
  • Sweep, dust, dust mop and wet mop lobby areas
  • Clean and polish floors as directed
  • Vacuum all carpet and entry mats throughout the building
  • Clean elevator lobbies
  • Clean Elevator Tracks
  • Sweep stairwells and wipe stairwell railings
  • Recreation Deck – Empty trash cans and sweep around the deck
  • Trash Chute – wipe and polish trash chute doors and clean trash rooms, trash chute room and recycle room
  • Vacuum Assigned Floors, wipe and clean fire extinguisher cases and hallway vents
  • Disinfect all bathrooms – spray and wipe bowl and seat cover & sweep or mop the floor
  • Polish brass doors and metal door handles and doorknobs
  • Provide other duties as assigned by Maintenance Chief or General Manager

Physical, Mental and Communication Demands:

  • Requires frequent walking, bending, and climbing; lifting, handling and moving boxes, furniture, equipment and other materials weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires climbing stairs.
  • Require learning all aspects of the position and able to fill in for other employees in their absence.
  • Must follow specific instructions and safety procedures, working to specific and non-specific routines.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor and other staff members
  • Require basic reading, writing and problem solving skills
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate effectively with owners, guests, rental agents and other staff members

Organizational Relationship:

  • Reports to the Maintenance Chief or General Manager in the absence of the Maintenance Chief. The employee must get along well with co-workers, residents, and the public.

Working Conditions:

Work indoors under regular conditions; outdoors in all types of weather. May be exposed to toxic chemicals in liquids, cleaning materials, and human waste. Under possible exposure conditions, required to wear appropriate safety and/or protective gear such as safety glasses or goggles, earplugs, gloves, etc.

Equipment Used:

Brooms, dusters, dustpans, safety and protective gear, two-way radios, and various equipment including but not limited to wet/dry vacuum, mops, etc.

Work Hours:

Generally, 16 hours per week. Workdays and hours are subject to change but regularly scheduled will be Friday and Saturday from 7am to 3:30pm. Various shifts may be required. Overtime may be necessary when circumstances call for extended hours, or to cover shifts for employees who are sick or on vacation. The Maintenance Chief and/or General Manager is responsible for assigning shifts.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
