Overview:
Imaging Service Clerk
Full Time; FTE 1.0
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Moline, IL

This individual will greet and check patients in to the Women’s Imaging Centers. They are also required to perform clerical procedures necessary for the operation of Imaging Services.

Responsibilities:
Job Performance
  • Utilizes the HIS/RIS/PACS efficiently and effectively
  • Greets and directs all patients presenting to the Women’s Imaging Registration Desks.
  • Ensures completeness of registration.
  • Verification of provider orders
  • Enters exam orders into HIS/RIS system
  • Uses proper phone etiquette
  • Imports/transfers images in PACS.
  • Obtains prior outside images for comparison
  • Burns images on CD and documents release of record appropriately
  • Is responsible for film purging
Patient Care
  • Utilizes phone etiquette appropriately when speaking with patients, family and physicians per hospital policy.
  • Patient focused care when working with patients/physician’s office to release images in a timely manner
  • Assists patients, if needed, with completion of breast history / CA risk
  • Working with technical staff, ensures timeliness of exam.
  • Is responsible for printing out and sending patient mammography reminder letters
Quality Improvement
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities
  • Maintains working knowledge of PACS/RIS/HIS systems
  • Receives calls regarding patient schedules/add-ons and relays information to technical staff in a timely manner
  • Monitors unread exams list in PACS awaiting prior images to ensure as timely a report turn-around time as possible.
  • Maintains working knowledge of the Mammography tracking system.
Qualifications:

Education:


High School graduate or GED equivalent

Medical Terminology


Experience:


1-2 yrs Medical experience with computer knowledge and medical terminology.

Data entry.


Hospital clerical
