Piper Companies is currently seeking a Attending Industry Veterinarian to support vivarium activities in Bedford, PA.

This position will be on-site and both housing and a relocation stipend are available.

Responsibilities of the Attending Veterinarian:   

• Provide oversight and guidance for the Animal Care and Use Program, including animal husbandry, housing, and procurement
• Direct and oversee the veterinary care program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing guidance on medical treatment and anesthesia guidelines
• Participate as a voting member of the IACUC, contributing to protocol and SOP reviews, and providing input on study removal criteria
• Provide institutional oversight and training for clinical and surgical procedures, as well as assist in investigation reports and animal welfare audits

 Qualifications of the Attending Veterinarian:   

• 5+ years of experience working with large animals
• Experience with cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations
• Experience with cattle, rabbits, and farm animal husbandry is preferred
• Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DACLAM) preferred
• DVM or VMD from an accredited college of veterinary medicine, or foreign equivalent required; Licensure in Pennsylvania and Category II Federal Accreditation required

Compensation for the Attending Veterinarian:   

• 165-185k+--commensurate with experience, additional bonus potential
