Required Qualities: Thorough knowledge of Third Party payers and Medicaid. Detail oriented. Positive attitude, solid organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. An effective communicator, team player, ability to interact productively with other team members.

This a fully remote position and can be worked from anywhere in country however you must be able to work 8am to 4pm Eastern Standard time zone.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs follow up on outstanding claims via phone and electronically online as directed per the current A/R plan to ensure proper resolution and reimbursement.
  • Resolves claims processing issues with third party payers and provides all required information in a timely manner and rebills claims as appropriate.
  • Identifies issues resulting in non-payment of claims due to internal/external issues
  • Researches, prepares, submits, and follows up on appeals of denied claims for assigned portion of the AR.
  • Performs insurance verification of benefits for new patients and enters benefit information into the patient management system.
  • Elevates significant issues to the Accounts Receivable Manager for further management interaction
  • Works collaboratively with other operational units to expediently resolve outstanding claims
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality
  • Maintains clear and concise notes
  • Maintains baseline level of accounts/week

Required Skills

  • 4+ years AR follow-up experience
  • Thorough knowledge of third -party payers & Medicaid
  • Knowledgeable and proficient with payer websites
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to produce high quality work
  • Experience with Evolv/Netsmart is a plus
  • Experience with Change Healthcare is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • General knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Basic ability in Excel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
