1. Verify and Update patient demographic information; First/Last Name Spelling, DOB, Address, City, State, Zip, Telephone, and email.

2. Verify and Update patient insurance plan coverage, ID and Group Number, and Medicare ID (When applicable)

3. Completes MSPQ form for Medicare Patients (When applicable)

4. Obtains prior authorization/VA authorization approval number before the DOS.

5. Provides patients their deductible, coinsurance, and/or copay responsibility based on a payer contract with the surgery center. Outlines estimated amount due and collects payment

6. Communicates patient's self-pay estimates, coordinates, and collects payment. Provides patient with a self-pay estimate, collects full amount, or coordinates payment plan with SMP.

7. Works collaboratively with SMP and all other business office staff.

8. Demonstrates competence in all areas of the business office.

9. Other duties as assigned.
