Job Description

Award-winning Wagner Logistics, a Top 50 Third Party Logistics company providing supply chain services including distribution center management, warehousing, transportation, order fulfilment, and packaging, is seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor for our warehouse in Edgerton, KS. This position will work Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible to manage all aspects of material flow and to maintain control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions regarding warehouse transfers, and receiving, to meet production schedules. Ensures adequate inventory of materials and productions in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy. Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems. Develops and implements inventory control procedures. Trains and advises a team of inventory control staff comprised of Wagner employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manage and monitor the activities related to inventory management
  • Act as the primary contact for all related inventory communications for Wagner
  • Analyze current operations, submit recommendations for improvement and coordinate continual improvement initiatives focused on but not limited to inventory control processes and procedures and shipping/receiving process and procedures
  • Establish and implement methods and best practices related to material flow that support production scheduling, purchasing and material control
  • Communicate with Excel’s Supply Chain, Production Scheduling, and Customer Service Departments to ensure adequate inventory levels are established at Edgerton Warehouses
  • Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing, in conjunction with Excel, an inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking correction action to guard against inconsistencies in the future.
  • Closely monitor production output juxtaposed to inventory. Identify deviations in the production schedule and assess the impact as it relates to the inventory required to support short term manufacturing needs. Work with warehousing and transportation to expedite parts transfers in the event inventory reaches a critical level. Closely monitor trends in parts usage and adjust minimum inventory triggers accordingly.
  • Approve and process internal requests for inventory transfers between sites.
  • Communicate and resolve all inbound shipment discrepancies with the shipper on a timely basis. In the event the shipper is a supplier from outside the company network, communicate the shipment variance to the Excel purchasing and accounting departments.
  • Identifies the requirements and helps in planning, storage, control and distribution of goods in the organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education (required) – Bachelor Degree in Business Administration
  • Education (preferred) – Specialization in Logistics, Materials Management or Supply Chain
  • Experience (the minimum level of direct experience in a similar position) - Two Years working in professional level in Warehousing or Manufacturing. Managing Inventory for a 3PL warehouse is preferred.

  • Must be skilled in all job related technology, including excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems; experience with RAMP, SYNAPSE and QAD preferred.
  • Travel – Up to 10% (To Edgerton, KS)
