Wyandotte County Public Health Department is committed to helping individuals improve their health and create a healthier community. The organization strives to prevent disease and injury, promote good health, and protect the environment. We work to improve health in our community in many ways - from services like vaccines and family planning, to community initiatives that work to address the root causes affecting residents' health and quality of life.

In 2022, the WYCO PHD completed a Community Health Assessment (CHA). From that assessment, the County’s 2024-2028 CHIP is being developed to focus on community-identified needs through various strategies. The CHIP is a 5-year plan being implemented through the collective work of four action teams devoted to jobs and education, safe and affordable housing, violence prevention, and health care access. Five half-time AmeriCorps members will provide in-depth support through action planning, partner facilitation, and community engagement.
