Basic Functions:

• To sell science related merchandise to the General Public while delivery excellent customer service.

• Prepare cash registers daily, balance currency in drawers, provide discrepancy reports to management; and handle opening and closing tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service, operate the cash register and make change accurately

• Stock and price product, straighten and maintain work area

• Ensures that all merchandise is displayed on the sales floor in adequate quantities to meet customer demand and in a manner that is visually effective and optimizes the financial performance of the store.

• Perform store opening and closing tasks

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

• New products and existing products to assist customers

Skills:

• Cash handling experience necessary

• Energetic, good communication, patience with children, and ability to stand for extended periods of time

Ability to:

• Stand for extended periods of time

• Deliver excellent customer service

• Work well with large groups of children

• Interact with staff and management

• Work weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays, as needed

Education: High School diploma or G.E.D required

Experience: Four or more years in retail sales

Basic Requirements: Must be able to pass background check

Hours: Variable, 15-20 hours per week, availability Tuesday-Sunday & one weekend day required
