Job Summary: Kitchen staff are primarily responsible for preparing and cooking menu items, maintaining kitchen stations, and assisting with prep work as assigned. Kitchen staff must be capable of working as a part of a team, maintaining a clean workspace, completing sidework as assigned, adhere to all safety standards, and attend any required meetings and trainings.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards, ensuring high-quality culinary offerings.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment, ensuring readiness for service.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely and efficient preparation and execution of menu items during service periods.
  • Assist with prep work, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and portioning ingredients, to support smooth kitchen operations.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper storage, handling, and labeling of food items, to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management regarding ingredient shortages or discrepancies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including equipment, utensils, and storage areas, following cleaning schedules and procedures.

  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of food and kitchen supplies, checking for accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine recipes, menu items, and cooking techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure smooth communication and teamwork.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by management to support overall kitchen operations.
Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a line or prep cook preferred, but not required.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s Permit through the Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department. You must present evidence of a valid permit before or on your first day of employment.
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, with a positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional products.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to see, hear, stand, walk, lift and carry various items for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and have legal authorization to work in the United States.
