Piper Health Sciences is seeking a Laboratory Technician 5 to join an organization supporting infectious disease research in Frederick, MD. The Laboratory Technician 5 will aid in the execution of scientific studies of infectious agents.

Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician 5 include:

• Perform conventional PCR and qRT-PCR
• Perform purification of nucleic acids from human blood, animal tissues, inactivated viral cultures
• Conduct quantitation and QC of DNA and RNA samples
• Execute studies by doing cell culture, qRT-PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and high-throughput sequencing

 Qualifications for the Laboratory Technician 5 include:

• 5+ years of experience working in a microbiology or molecular biology laboratory
• Previous experience with PCR, ddPCR, qRT-PCR, qPCR
• BSL-3 experience
• Must be a US citizen 
• Bachelor of Science in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field

 Compensation for the Laboratory Technician 5 include:

• Salary Range: $37 - $42.50/hr **depending on experience**
• Full Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision, 401k
