Due to growth, we are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to add to our team! This hire will be a person who is innovative, with a product development mindset, and will understand how to further differentiate our financial products on the market to create more stickiness. The right candidate will enjoy working with many departments and wearing many hats as this person will be responsible for various projects inside the organization working with our Leadership team.

Job Details



Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of deep industry experience in predictive & algorithmic modeling, data science, and data analysis, specifically with experience in developing FinTech products including Credit & Pricing.
  • Experience in startup, scale and exits and/or entrepreneurial environments.
  • Experience with ML fields, e.g., predictive analytics and financial modeling, statistical learning theory and feature engineering.
  • Experience in data scientist role building and mentoring.
  • Experience with maintaining and monitoring ML models in a production environment.
  • Expertise in modelling & building systems using Python.
  • Experience in diving into data to discover hidden patterns, using data visualization tools, writing SQL, and working with modern tools to develop models.
  • Experience writing and speaking about technical concepts to business, technical, and lay audiences and giving data-driven presentations.


Responsibilities:
  • Fully accountable for the success and failure of the Data Science team technical deliveries.
  • Collaborate with business domain subject matter experts in various departments to understand the problem and the objectives.
  • Research and build innovative predictive statistical models for all areas of the business.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for a non-technical audience.
  • Maintain, tune, improve model behavior with live data for the company’s credit decision model for lending operations to drive profitability.
  • Strong teaching and mentoring skills for the purpose of building up talent and delegating responsibilities.
  • Dynamic working style able to handle many moving pieces at once.
  • Vocal and able to communicate needs and opinions to senior leaders.
