Job Description

Leads the Material Handler team and lends advanced knowledge and experience of inventory operations procedures to develop protocols and standards for the Material Handler personnel. Ensures orders are issued and filled in an efficient, high-quality method following all established procedures while practicing safe work habits.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs team to issue orders, pull parts, and replenish work centers based on due dates and customer requirements.
  • Studies customer, work center, and planning requirements to develop work instructions.
  • Monitors and maintains inventory of Stockroom supplies and boxing materials.
  • With experience, may resolve issues. Brings urgent matters to supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical challenges.
  • Continuously improve and evolve the management and flow of materials.
  • Keep supervisor advised of work status, issues and progress as related to work assignments.
  • Follow work instructions.
  • Display a cooperative attitude with all Click Bond employees.
  • Able to learn and implement Lean and Continuous Improvement principles. (6S, root cause analysis, and mistake proofing)
  • Issues and pulls orders per work instructions.
  • Facilitates training for Material Handlers.
  • Able to cooperate with other departments to ensure workflow continues to move forward.
  • Participate in staff selection/interview process.
  • Assist the Supervisor, Inventory Control to develop, write and improve work instructions.
  • Inspects processed work orders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of orders.
  • Conduct end of day routines such as ensuring orders are moved to next work center.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Strong computer and keyboard skills, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of inventory or warehousing systems and best practices.
  • Competent in all inventory operations procedures including lot traceability, FIFO, FOD, cycle counting, issue and receipt of parts and materials.
  • Mathematical skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Ability to write and read English

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED).
  • At least 5 years experience in inventory, warehousing or distribution center environment and project management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide expertise to the inventory control team.
  • Responsible for the coordination and assists with the evaluation of the team.
