Compensation: $95,700- $159,400 plus sales incentive

Why this job matters: You will manage the company’s high profile, key client accounts. Responsible for retention and growth of existing key client accounts, including cross-selling additional products and/or services based on business size and scope. Communicate and manage the needs of key account clients at all levels within the organization; develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key client accounts and their broker/consultant partners. Serve as lead resource for account executives and internal teams for delegated responsibilities; to include evaluation of new market capabilities and business requirements impacting key accounts.
What you will do: - Working within the large employer (1,000+ covered lives) segment and acting as primary client contact, partners with complex accounts, achieves retention and growth targets through expert execution of sales process.
- Be visible in the market by meeting with customers, brokers, and consultants in person and virtually to establish, cultivate, influence, and manage relationships.
- Cultivate deep trust-based relationships and develop comprehensive understandings of client and broker/consultant needs and priorities.
- Develop strategic business plans to address client and/or broker/consultant needs.
- Represent the “voice of the client” and partner with internal business teams to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Apply a growth mindset, drive opportunities for continuous improvement, and embody the large employer perspective, ensuring successful deployment of innovative capabilities.
- Conduct broker/consultant education on pertinent topics.
- Provide support to other team members as a strategic resource and shares best practices for client-specific strategy development and proactive issue resolution.
- Lead department initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed: - 8+ years of strategic and consultative client management experience working with key account clients (1,000+ covered lives) within the health insurance industry.
- Solid team player and customer-obsessed
- Experience interacting confidently with key stakeholders, as a subject matter expert, and comfortable with influencing decision-making.
- Strong organizing skills, with the ability to prioritize and respond to shifting deadlines
- Superior written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties
- Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people in individual and group settings
- Valid driver’s license or ability to travel, as needed, to BCBSRI offices and/or client business offices
- Rhode Island resident and or non-resident health & accident insurance producer license or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire
Extra: - Deep understanding of health plan portfolio of products, services, and marketing distribution strategies.
- Solid working knowledge of business planning and financial / underwriting techniques.
- Proven ability to navigate an often ambiguous and complex organization to resolve customer issues.
- Ability to create a strategic vision and plan its implementation
- Proven ability to resolve complex issues in a fast-paced and high-demand environment is strongly preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, social media & collaboration tools, and Salesforce highly preferred.
Location: BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:
