Summary
We are currently hiring for a Lead Mail Operator to join BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. In this role as Lead Mail Operator, you will lead and coordinate incoming and outgoing mail processing. Assist in the receipt and processing of incoming mail and in the preparation of incoming claims and incoming or returned premiums and payments. Lead and oversee the outgoing meter mail processing and presentation to the USPS or Presorting. Operate all mail equipment.
**Both non-automated and office mail procedures require the adherence to the USPS regulations governing mail and adherence to federal privacy regulations. Failure to properly perform in this position may result in substantial fines and penalties to the corporation.**

Description

Logistics
This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30 at Alpine Road.
What You Will Do:
  • Lead staff and provide quality assurance in the selection of accurate postage rates and cost allocation to appropriate cost centers.
  • Apply postage charge-back by cost center and line of business, balance postage meters, and prepare reporting for management and Cost and Budget.
  • Perform quality control functions of sorted mail prior to pick-up or delivery.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding mail distribution.
  • Communicate delays to management in affected areas.
  • Communicate with internal customers regarding the quality of the mail they have prepared and recommend lower cost options, as applicable.
  • Assist management in the appropriate process order and assignment of workload on a daily basis.
  • Monitor daily workload to estimate timeliness and modify workload assignments as necessary.
  • Perform claims prep processing, premium prep processing, and incoming and interoffice corporate mail functions.
  • Train new staff and guide existing staff for continuous efficiency improvement.
  • Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of desk procedures to ensure all mail processes smoothly and efficiently.
  • Continuously seek process improvement opportunities and make appropriate recommendations to management.
To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years related experience working in a business or government agency, including 3 Years experience in corporate mail.
