Mil Mujeres Legal Services, a Non-Profit organization is looking for a full-time on-site Legal Administrative Assistant in Washington, D.C.

Mil Mujeres Legal Services is dedicated to supporting survivors of violent crimes, with a particular focus on gender-based crime survivors within the low-income Latino community. We provide critical immigration legal services to those in need, ensuring their safety and well-being in the United States.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborative Outreach, Community Assistance, and Rights Education
  • Partner with local agencies, consulates, and organizations to deliver “Know Your Rights” presentations and outreach services.
  • Organize and facilitate Mil Mujeres' participation in local events, fairs, and community activities.
  • Attend weekly consulates to conduct “Know Your Rights” presentations, surveys, and intakes, while assisting the community.
  • Client Intake & Office Administration
  • Conduct client intakes, manage meetings, answer phone calls, and support client appointments at the office.
  • Office Administration & Clerical Support
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, and other clerical tasks.
  • Mail & Information Management
  • Handle, open, and distribute regular and electronic mail, and coordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments or organizations.
  • Client Communication & Case Management
  • Communicate with clients, employees, and others to answer questions, address complaints, and handle all case-related inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Education: An associate degree in office administration is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a related position.

Skills:

  • Quick learner and self-starter.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Google Workspace, Gmail, and Microsoft Office.

Salary: The current entry salary is $40.000 annually, 40 hours per week.
