This project position has been authorized and the anticipated end date is December 31, 2024. Project positions are eligible for benefits, including health insurance, but the incumbent does not attain permanent civil service status. Candidates chosen for a project position may be considered for permanent positions in the near future if any permanent positions become available. Position Summary


The Legal Secretary (LS) works with attorneys and clients, providing legal secretarial support to the local office. The LS is also responsible for evaluating individuals and determine eligibility, and appointing cases following agency and local office policies and procedures. Salary Information


This classification is in pay schedule/range 02-12 with a starting salary of $22.95 per hour. A one-year probationary period will be required.

Permanent classified state employees who are eligible for consideration (transfer, voluntary demotion, or reinstatement) for a position assigned to the stated pay range or counter-part pay range, should complete the application process as described above by the stated deadline.

Final selected candidates may be eligible for moving expense reimbursement to relocate to the place of employment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required – Candidates must have experience and/or training relevant to these areas in order to be considered for this position):

  • Providing administrative, clerical or office support (e.g., greeting visitors, answering phones, mail distribution, etc.)
  • Working with computers (e.g., word processing, database entry, email, scheduling, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Managing multiple conflicting priorities (e.g., managing workload, meeting deadlines, determining priorities, etc.)


A well-qualified candidate will also have experience and/or training in the following areas:

  • Working with the adult criminal and/or juvenile justice systems
