Job Description

Position Summary

Uncover new business by prospecting new clients via telephone and email. Offer them creative and dynamic solutions within their transportation network. Handle existing accounts to help get your feet wet. Continue to grow and develop customer and carrier relationships by seeking ways to expand our service offering to them.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Handle high volume, outbound calls
  • Prospect, develop & grow customer base.
  • Handling existing customer accounts.
  • Close deals, negotiate rates, and book loads.
  • Develop and foster strong relationships with your customer base.
  • Analyze data, solve problems, and actively seek opportunities to improve your customers supply chains.
  • Work in conjunction with CRMs and other team members.
  • Occasional travel.
  • Other duties as necessary.

Qualification & Skills

  • High School diploma
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule. Occasional after-hours communication with customers, carriers and drivers may be required.
  • Understanding of current FMCSA Regulations and hours of service.
  • Existing & portable book of customers.
  • 1+ year experience in transportation/logistics or degree in Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience with McLeod software, and consistent record of accurately rating and pricing truckload shipments are a plus.
  • Positive attitude with high energy.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with ability and desire to build lasting relationships with customers.
  • Exceptional listening skills with an inquisitive nature.
  • Time management and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail are key.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively handle multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Desire and ability to effectively negotiate and solve problems by offering creative solutions.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to make quick decisions.
  • Ability to persuade, motivate, influence and seek a mutually agreeable arrangement with others.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results.
