Foodland is looking for individuals to join our team as an in-store Loss Prevention Specialist. The Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for ensuring overall safety for the employees and customers shopping in the store, protecting the company’s assets, and representing Foodland well to each person they come into contact with.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Act as a deterrent against internal and external theft.
  • Greet customers upon store entry and thank customers for their patronage upon exit.
  • Identifies potential shoplifters and provides customer service to deter theft.
  • Assists undercover Loss Prevention Agents when they stop shoplifters.
  • Serve as a witness, as necessary, when shoplifters are detained by Loss Prevention Agents.
  • Documents theft, or other noteworthy incidents, on the statement form.
  • Prevents merchandise theft and shrink by monitoring store activities.
  • Reports employee non-compliance with company policies to store management.
  • Maintains public order on store/company premises as necessary.
  • Identifies and corrects water spills and debris in and around the store.
  • Assists with deescalating and removing unsafe situations from the store.
  • Assists with safely removing drunk, mentally unstable, and unruly customers from the store.
  • Handles each situation with respect and dignity.
  • Listens to customer’s questions and concerns, and provides appropriate answers or responses.
  • Practices Hoaloha standards with every customer/employee interaction.
  • Complies with all work-related directives and assignments.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum (1) one year security experience preferred
  • Minimum (1) one year customer service experience preferred
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain Hawaii Guard Card
  • TB Clearance required

This is a full-time, hourly position and individual may need to provide coverage to other locations on occasion.
