The Beam Operator prepares warp, stuffer, and binder beams for the weaving department.
This is for the Second Shift ( 2;30 PM to 11:00 PM) ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operator must be able to load yarn packages weighing up to 35 pounds from floor level to 10 feet high with the use of a ladder or step stool.
- Operator must be able to thread yarn through stop motions, back reeds, separate yarn in back reed, around tension S roller and pull entire yarn bundle to front expansion reed threading into front reed.
- Operator must have the ability to load an empty beam into the beamer weighing 275 to 300 pounds and unload a full beam weighing up to 1500 pounds by rolling into and from the warping machine.
- Operator should be able to set yarn spacing on expansion reed, set traverse distance and machine speed to properly run yarn onto beam.
- Operator will learn the use of a tension meter to monitor creel and yarn tension, adjusting when needed.
- Operator should have knowledge of yarns by denier and type, also the ability to read and write in English.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 35-pound packages to a height of 72 inches on a regular basis.
- Must be able to perform simple calculations.
- Ability to fill out required paperwork neatly.
- Must be dependable, positive attitude, good work ethic, reliable attendance, good communication skills, good comprehension skills
