Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Supervise maintenance personnel and procedures to provide major, routine, preventative and emergency maintenance of equipment, facilities and ensure economical and efficient operations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide safety leadership and responsibility in the Mine Maintenance Department. Report all incidents.
  • Know, understand and enforce all applicable local, state and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure environmental compliance in the Mine Maintenance Department. Report all incidents.
  • Know, understand and enforce all applicable local, state and federal environmental regulations.
  • Supervise crafts and support personnel in field maintenance of all equipment resulting in minimum downtime and operating costs.
  • Supervise daily repair work to ensure effective utilization of manpower, materials and equipment.
  • Inspect equipment and assist maintenance and operations personnel in developing preventative maintenance programs resulting in lower costs and operating downtime.
  • Monitor employee performance and take corrective action when necessary, consistent with collective bargaining agreement and/or policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Total Safety Culture Program.
  • Communicate goals and key performance indicators to employees and monitor their development in accomplishing these goals.
  • Administer interactive management for employee-related issues.
  • Monitor employee behavior and plant operating conditions to ensure safe working environment consistent with company, local, state and federal safety standards.
  • Administer work procedures in accordance with collective bargaining agreement and/or company policies.
  • Locate parts, acquire quotes and provide information to purchasing through the requisition process.
  • Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.
  • Effectively administer department and company policies and procedures.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must have above average knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and ability to read all schematics.
  • Must have a working knowledge of diesel engines.
  • The ability to troubleshoot, perform maintenance planning, project management and predictive management is desirable.
  • Must have good computer skills with MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of SAP a plus.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities.
  • Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of college, technical school, or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years maintenance experience.
  • One (1) year supervisory experience.
