Maintenance Technician - 50% / Driver 50%

Position Overview:

Brookdale Senior Living is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team in the Coeur D Alene, ID area. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all facilities within a designated location, as well as assisting in the coordination of all outside maintenance services. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge base in plumbing, painting experience, electrical, fire suppression, and other related technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and other related technologies.
  • Inspect and repair systems and components to ensure functionality.
  • Routinely troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems.
  • Perform electrical gas repairs as needed.
  • Maintain exterior interior security systems as needed.
  • Perform landscaping and snow removal duties as assigned.
  • Assist in the development of facility safety systems as needed.
  • Demonstrate understanding of company policies and procedures related to safety and environmental factors regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills:

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • A willingness to work outdoors as well as within the office environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to operate standard hand tools as well as power tools in the maintenance of electrical, fire suppression, plumbing, etc. industry.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics for installation of HVAC equipment are a plus.

Driver

  • Provides transportation to the residents for appointments and errands, such as medical appointments, banking, shopping, worship services, entertainment, and other miscellaneous activities.
  • Ensures safety of all passengers.
  • Runs event and community errands as needed.
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Prior experience working with seniors preferred.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license with a good driving record. CPR training and certification may be required.
  • CDL not required
