Summary

The Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Technician ensures the operational efficiency of electrical and mechanical systems within the facility. This role involves regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical and electrical equipment to prevent downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery. The technician will be skilled in reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and breakdown maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with electrical circuits, mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic devices.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and diagrams for effective troubleshooting and repair.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs and other control systems to ensure efficient operation of production machinery.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well as electrical and mechanical diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety standards and adhere to OSHA regulations.
  • Document maintenance procedures and repairs for company records and compliance.
  • Coordinate with production teams to schedule repairs and routine checks without disrupting production.
  • Engage in training and development sessions to stay current with industry trends and technologies.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory
  • Apply verbal and written communication skills to communicate important issues to management and co-workers.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
