The Communication Consulting team maximizes client retention and growth through needs-based client consulting and engagement strategies that drive better participant outcomes. We have dedicated teams that support different plan sizes and complexities.

As a Communication Consultant, you will establish a thorough understanding of and be able to effectively demonstrate the value of our Participant Experience and communication offerings and foster awareness among clients, consultants, prospects, and service teams. You’ll be accountable for the development, delivery, and end-to-end execution of effective engagement strategies for your clients, encompassing DC, DB, NQ retirement plans and related services.


We will look to you to:


  • Be the experts in the WFS participant and their experience with Schwab.
  • Create data-driven engagement strategies aligned with client goals and connect participants to solutions that can improve outcomes.
  • Understand participant behaviors, trends, and demographics and how they differ for each client.
  • Understand client relationship goals, risks, and preferences, and demonstrate a deep understanding of client concerns, needs, and wants.
  • Consistently connect internal teams, prospects, and sponsors to the participant experience by demonstrating the participant experience, proven solutions, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Establish a trusted partnership with plan sponsors and be an active player on collaborative and consultative service teams.
  • Provide input on client sales strategies and participate in the sales process, including participating in sales finals and site visits to win and retain clients.

What you have


Required:
  • At least 5 years of financial services or communication/marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical, influence and consultative skills
  • Articulate communicator with strong presentation skills in person, on the phone and in virtual environments
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and inspire action.
  • Collaborative with proven ability to develop internal and external partnerships.
  • High achievement orientation, measures success through quantitative results
  • May require 50% or more business travel.
Preferred:
  • Employer-sponsored retirement plan expertise preferred.
