The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Manager Labor Relations to join our team. This position can be based at our Beachwood OH or Moon Twp PA locations. Flexible, hybrid work schedule is also available.
Position Overview:
The Manager Labor Relations is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and guidance for the Labor Relations function, to all union locations in the United States. In addition, this role will be responsible for leading Eaton’s Union Avoidance programs, including Site Assessments, Front Line Leader Training, Positive Employee Relations, etc. The role will encompass advising on complex employee relations cases and advising internal HR COEs on employee relations and compliance matters.
In this function you will:
  • Drive Positive Employee Relations strategy for Eaton through the deployment of various different labor relations tools like site assessments, requiring partnership with the businesses to determine focus sites, creation and management of the processes and training of site assessors. Provide leadership to sites working through follow-up actions.
  • Provide expert guidance to union locations on common labor relations issues such as contract interpretation, outsourcing, layoffs, plant closures, unfair labor practice charges, and the grievance procedure (including arbitrations). Consult and coach union locations in building and executing negotiations strategies, including leading negotiations where required.
  • Partner with Benefits and Corporate COEs to provide strategy on initiatives that impact labor relations.
  • Drive organizational capability and functional excellence within the Labor Relations function, through development of standardized work, training and development plans, and real-time resources.
  • Consult with sites experiencing union activity or union campaigns. Recommend and execute strategy and approach; provide expert guidance as sites work through union avoidance communications and actions.
  • Manage and support employment policies and processes for the United States. Programs are large-scale and complex and support Eaton’s culture and practices as well as complying with government regulations and are designed to mitigate risk for Eaton. This may include policies and processes like background check, drug test, Form I9/E-Verify, etc.
  • Provide counsel on issues that are often non-routine and complex, requiring research, analysis, consideration of precedent, collaboration with corporate counsel and ultimately the recommendation of an appropriate response. Determining the optimal solution is based on legal compliance, business needs and doing the right thing.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of HR generalist experience, with at least two at the HR Manager level
  • Minimum of 2 years’ HR experience in a unionized manufacturing facility
  • Candidates must be located within a 50 mile radius of Beachwood, OH or Moon Twp, PA to be considered.
• •Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience as 1st chair spokesperson for union negotiations
  • Expert knowledge and application of US employment law and the National Labor Relations Act
  • Significant experience with day to day application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing large-scale cross functional projects.
