Job Description:

The Manager, Internal Communications USCC focuses primarily on internal communications for the Phone Channel. This role supports internal communications strategies and tactics for the Phone Channel Leadership Team and Project teams that help deliver on business objectives while contributing to a positive employee experience.

Depth & Scope:

  • Develops and implements internal communication strategies in support of business objectives; project and employee experience initiatives, working closely with the Senior Manager, Channel partners and other areas of the bank
  • Works closely and autonomously with Phone Channel Executives to lead communication strategies and tactics that are both aligned from a Phone Channel perspective, and relevant and engaging for PC employees
  • Works with Channel partners and project teams, providing communications leadership, advice and guidance on strategies and tactics, ensuring business and project objectives are met, and transformation change efforts are effectively supported
  • Proactively monitors communications activity within the bank, the industry and the category to surface innovative ideas and approaches
  • Creates high-impact communications for employees that leverage TD best practices and uses a variety of tactics and mediums (intranet/internet, social media, video, digital signage, written and face to face), ensuring consistent messaging and communication methodology
  • Regularly advises key stakeholders on how communication plans are being implemented and identifies opportunities to leverage learnings
  • Proactively tracks, reports, assesses and measures the effectiveness of ongoing communication activities and monitors all sources of employee feedback across NAPC channels, to identify common themes and suggestions
  • Creates communication strategies and tactics to respond and drive continuous improvement
  • Engages and partners seamlessly with CAPA ensuring communication strategies are aligned to TD best practices

Education & Experience:

  • University degree required with a specialty in Journalism, Corporate Communications, Public Relations Communications, or other related field preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of internal communications experience within large publicly traded companies, with a preference for Financial Services
  • Superior and creative communications skills
  • A thorough understanding of communication best practices and trends, and how they could apply to TD’s information needs, support business objectives and drive employee engagement
  • Strong organizational skills and capable of juggling a large amount of detail and work volume
  • Self-starter with high energy and good project management skills who works well independently
  • Ability to interact well with a varied group of senior executives and to build strong working relationships with key partners such as HR and CAPA
  • Some travel may be required
