Job Description

SUMMARY

Perform various prescribed duties to move bar stock to machine operations, receive incoming material, and maintain orderly inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work from written and verbal instructions, receiving documents, color codes, data terminal, and prescribed procedures to pick stock, deliver to machines or ship to other locations, and identify and record inventory transactions.

Receive bar stock and verify for weight, quantity, heat number, and material types or identifications.

Load and unload trucks, storage racks, and machines.

Select issues of stock for operations and move to prober machine location and return unused materials.

Record and mark steel following inventory procedures.

Operate saw, spectrometer, and chamfer machine as needed.

Move materials to other locations for stamping and manufacturing operations.

Mark, bundle, and prepare stock for outside shipments.

Use data terminal to record and for material information.

Maintain orderly and clear work areas inside and outside the building.

Cycle count inventory for accurate records.

Refer unusual conditions to supervisor or appropriate personnel.

Move, lift and carry bar stock manually.

Operate fork lift truck, manual material handling equipment, data terminal, weight scales. Use calipers, hardness tester, spectrotester, micrometers and various hand tools.

Responsible to prepare and submit/record production records, accurate piece counts, reports and forms required by company procedures.

Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping and quality of work with support of ISO procedures and standards.

Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which the position participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.

Support, encourage and maintain a positive team working atmosphere throughout the company.

Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions and changes.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE -

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or over 1 year up to and including 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations and to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
