Role Description

The Materials Specialist will be primarily responsible for material purchasing, systematic shipping and receiving of products, researching discrepancies, and document control. In addition, the position will involve assisting with month-end reconciliations and participating in the implementation of a plant-wide cycle count program.

Essential Functions

• Use internal computer applications for report generation and data entry.
• Source materials and supplies.
• Work with vendors on quotes and orders, negotiate pricing as needed.
• Manages and resolves issues with vendors.
• Double checks all inbound and outbound paperwork for accuracy before keying information into the system.
• Arrange shipments as needed. Either internally or through customer portals.
• Prepares and prints BOL’s for outbound shipments.
• Schedules receiving appointments.
• Works closely with all departments.
• Back-up Materials Manager as needed.
• Responsible for other duties as deemed necessary by Management.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Proficiency with Sage software preferred but not required.
• 2 years related shipping & receiving experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Post High School Education Preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
